Dragons

Dragons were beings created by the supreme god Praetor during the early days of the universe to help mold it to what it is today, including keeping tabs on star and world formation and 'nudging' pieces in place to create habitable solar systems. Since then, dragons have settled on many worlds. Winged, massive, capable of having fire and ice breath, and most with intelligence near sentient, dragons are a force not to be trifled with.

Many cases of contact with other races haven't ended well, giving rise to the stigma that they are violent beasts. This is slightly true for most semi-sentient dragons, though it is mainly for territorial reasons, but there are another type who boast the intelligence at the level or even above other sentients who are much more peaceful. Some even control powerful enough magics to take human or other mortal forms, though only with the assistance of other powerful sorcerers.
